As Kaizer Chiefs prepare to return to action in the Betway Premiership next week, the Siya crew looks at five key areas they need to improve on following their recent struggles.
Eighth-placed Amakhosi have gone three matches without a victory, with two defeats and a draw. The international break has given the technical team, led by Nasreddine Nabi, time to work on problem areas in the team.

Defence
Amakhosi went into the market to bolster their squad with defenders, but they have been struggling to keep clean sheets. They have not kept any clean sheets in the league. Their only clean sheet came in the Carling Knockkout victory over SuperSport United.
Conceding early and in the first half
Against Marumo Gallants and Magesi, finished conceded in the first 10 minutes of the game, which should be a concern for Nabi. Of the seven goals they have conceded so far in the league, five of them were let in during the first half. This is something Nabi will no doubt be looking at to ensure they are solid in both halves.
Home form
Amakhosi may have only played one match at home, but they lost it to Sundowns and they need to make sure that dropping points in their backyard does not become a norm, as was the case last term. Of the 15 home games last season, they only won six. With their next game set to be played at home, Nabi will know that it’s important to collect maximum points.
Midfield dominance
Amakhosi have struggled in midfield, with captain Yusuf Maart yet to find his best form. Njabulo Blom appears to be working on getting to full fitness and has not found his best form since returning to Naturena. Samkelo Zwane has given away possession unnecessarily in the middle of the park and this has put the Amakhosi defence under pressure. Nabi will be hoping to find his best midfield combination sooner rather than later.

Chances wasted
Amakhosi have wasted quite a number of chances in front of goal and striker Ranga Chivaviro has been one of those who have let opportunities pass him by. With the club struggling for points at the moment, one thing Nabi would no doubt have addressed during the international break is the chances they waste.
