Crop comments: North Ridgeville and Amherst have held steady in the top two spots, with the Rangers not budging an inch. It’s a credit to North Ridgeville head coach George Panagiotou’s coaching and the team’s buy-in that they remain unbeaten. … The rest of the Crop saw a big shakeup. Rocky River jumped three spots to No. 3, having bested Westlake by three scores in an impressive win. The Pirates got ahead of Elyia Catholic after the Panthers squandered a multi-goal lead in the second half to Valley Forge, but it doesn’t cost them too much here. … With Westlake besting Avon, the Demons jumped ahead of the Eagles, with Vermilion also forcing their way up in the rankings, leading to Avon clocking in at No. 7. … Following Bay, we have two new entrants to the top 10. Firelands took Keystone’s place after a 2-1 win over the Wildcats. The Falcons are on pace for either a share or outright LC8 title for the fifth straight season. They’re followed by Avon Lake, which has rattled off four wins in a row after a bit of a slow start to the campaign. That cost Open Door its spot in the top 10 and moved them to the watch list for now.
