Soccer fever is sweeping over the land of calcio as AC Milan have gone top of Serie A thanks to a goal from American winger Christian Pulisic.
The USMNT star was able to break a scoreless deadlock against Genoa to put the Rossoneri top of the league – picking up a great cross from fellow American Yunus Musah and slotting it home.
Italian commentators were celebrating back in a studio – with famed Italian analyst Tiziano Crudeli screaming Pulisic’s name into the face of one of his desk mates.
On the Italian commentary for the goal, play-by-play announcer Mauro Suma began screaming Barack Obama’s campaign slogans through the microphone.
‘Yes we can! Yes we did! Yes we all! Yes! Yes! Yes! USA! USA! USA!,’ the announcer screamed.
A top-notch goal from Christian Pulisic sent Milan top of Serie A and Italian commentators wild
Famed Italian calcio presenter Tiziano Crudeli was sent into madness as a result of the strike
Crudeli and a fellow Milan supporter on the desk went over to a fellow analyst and screamed Pulisic’s name into his ear after the strike to put the Rossoneri ahead in the match
Pulisic tucked a shot in the right corner of the net after a cross from teammate Yunus Musah
Pulisic was brought on as a halftime substitute for Samuel Chukwueze while Musah started the match.
In the 87′, Musah had space and time to whip in a marvelous cross into his fellow countryman.
Pulisic took a touch, ducking his body between two defenders, then turned and fired the ball below Josep Martinez – who dived too late.
That goal, coupled with a draw from cross-city rivals Inter Milan, helped to put AC Milan top of the league on 21 points.
Up next for Pulisic: the international break. He’ll play for the USMNT in games against Germany and Ghana.
