TS Galaxy chairman Tim Sukazi has described Bongani Zungu’s bone crunching tackle on Bernard Parker as inhumane, saying that it has no place in football.

Parker had to be taken off with a leg break in the Carling Knockout last 16 clash against Mamelodi Sundowns on Wednesday night after being a victim of a challenge which could see him spending months on the sidelines.

Not impressed with the tackle, Sukazi gave his thoughts on the challenge on the career-threatening incident.

“I saw everything, to be honest. The tackle was inhumane to say the least and it’s got no space in football, none whatsoever. It has to be condemned at all levels,” Sukazi said to the Siya crew.

At 37, Parker is closer to the end of his playing career and this could be a crucial time to see whether he will be able to return.

“If we reference career ending in terms of playing, there’s some element of truth to that. In so far as Bernard Parker’s career in football is concerned, I put it categorically myself at the launch of his book that as long as TS Galaxy is there, Parker has a place in football and he shall forever be in football.”

At this stage, Sukazi does not know how long Parker will be out for.

“He is undergoing surgery as we speak.”
