On Saturday, the WPIAL Girls Soccer Class 1A playoffs reach the quarterfinal round with eight teams remaining in each classification vying to reach the Semifinal Round, which will be played on Tuesday.

There weren’t that many surprises in either side of bracket in the first round, with one exception, as South Allegheny dominated No. 5 Greensburg Central Catholic. As the tournament moves on, the matches should further intensify and the challenges will become tougher for the top seeds to keep advancing.
