Tau recently managed to help the Egyptian giants lift the Egyptian Super Cup, adding to the two Egyptian Super Cups, CAF Champions League, CAF Super Cup, two Egypt Cups and the Egyptian Premier League title that he has already accumulated since joining the club in 2021.
A pivotal part of the club’s setup, initial reports emerged from Cairo that Tau was on the brink of signing a new contract with the club that would see him become Africa’s highest paid player.

According to Sport.Elwatannews the trio are part of the club’s plans to free up much-needed funds to bring in new talent.
Tau does have one year left on his contract, which indicates that Al Ahly could sell the 30-year-old to avoid losing him for free in a few months’ time.
While offering Tau a new deal could be the club’s way of ensuring that they get the highest possible transfer fee for the prized possession.
It remains to be seen what the future holds for the ‘Lion of Judah’ and if there are any more dramatic twists to his future.
