There has been a tremendous amount of flux at the home of the Green Eagles in the early stages of the 2024/25 season.

The manager who led them to their historic unbeaten campaign last season, Josef Zinnbauer, departed Casablanca for Al Wehda in Saudi Arabia, with the north African giants deciding his successor would be Rusmir Cviko.

However, the Bosnian struggled during the early parts of the new league season. While he successfully guided the Botola Pro Inwi title holders to qualification for the Champions League group stage, two successive defeats in their opening two league matches saw the 52-year-old removed from his role as head coach.

Many names were linked with the three-time continental champions consequently, such as former Al Ahly and Sundowns boss Pitso Mosimane, former Orlando Pirates head coach Milutin Sredojevic and ex-Girona manager Pablo Machin.

According to 365Scores, though, Raja have now decided that Ricardo Sa Pinto will be their new manager.

The Porto native, who was capped 45 times as a player for the Portuguese national team, is a well-travelled tactician, having plied his trade in his native Portugal, Cyprus, Serbia and Saudi Arabia.

The same report claims that the Raja board were in discussions with Pinto when they were looking for a replacement for Zinnbauer, but failed to agree on terms at the time.

The situation is different now and it is believed the ex-forward is poised to sign a one-year deal with the club, with the option of a further year should he achieve certain accomplishments during his first season in Casablanca.
