The Egyptian attacker is approaching the final six months of his existing deal at Anfield, and with the Reds yet to offer the forward new terms, according to Salah himself, it increases the likelihood that he will leave Merseyside come the end of the campaign.

While the six-time European champions strategise how to get the club icon to agree fresh terms, other clubs on the continent are alleged to be proactive in trying to lure the two-time CAF Men’s Player of the Year away from England. One of those clubs is believed to be Paris Saint-Germain.

According to French publication L’Equipe, Salah’s representatives have begun talks with the record Ligue 1 winners in an attempt to agree terms ahead of the 2025/26 season.

During the offseason, PSG bid farewell to their all-time top goalscorer, Kylian Mbappe, and have been trying to replace him since.

The same report claims that they tried to sign Jadon Sancho and Napoli’s Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, though with both deals proving unsuccessful, the club have turned their attention to Salah.

The French juggernauts are understood to be long-time admirers of Egypt’s captain, but Luis Enrique’s side may view this as the best time to secure the Nagrig native’s services.

With Salah entering the new year without a new deal, it opens the possibility of signing a pre-contract with other clubs, and PSG will be hoping they can secure a high-profile free agent of their own.
