Minnesota United FC star Bongokuhle Hlongwane joined a Freedom Day celebration organised by the African Classroom Connection, and it was an event complete with a South African dinner, live music and dancing.

Bafana Bafana international Bongokuhle Hlongwane has penned a new deal in Major League Soccer.
Minnesota United have confirmed that Hlongwane has put pen-to-paper on a new three-year contract with the club.
Hlongwane has been with Minnesota since 2022 and has gone on to register 30 goals in 108 appearances, two goals shy of becoming the club’s all-time leading scorer.

“I’m grateful to be a part of this amazing team again; it means a lot to me and my family,” Hlongwane told the club’s official website.
“I can’t wait to continue playing in front our fans, and I hope for more joy and success.”
Chief Soccer Officer Khaled El-Ahmad also expressed his delight with the former Maritzburg United star signing a new deal.
“Since his arrival, Bongi has continued to improve his game and has had a positive impact to the team when it came to his success on and off of the field,” El-Ahmed.
“His new contract is a testament to Minnesota and MLS, and our club looks forward to seeing his continued growth and work ethic contribute to the success of our upcoming year and beyond.”
