The Los Blancos were beaten 5-1 on aggregate against North London giants Arsenal in the UEFA Champions League quarter-finals.

Despite having the likes of Kylian Mbappe, Vinicius Junior, and Jude Bellingham at his disposal, it was not enough for Ancelotti to lead his side to a spot in the semi-finals.

Speaking after his side’s defeat, the former AC Milan manager reportedly said he was not sure if he would still be in the dugout come next season, according to ESPN.

“I don’t know,” the Italian said. “It could be that the club decides to change. It could be this year, or next year when my contract ends. There’s no problem. The day I finish here, the only thing I can do is thank this club, it could be tomorrow, in a month, or in a year,” he continued.

Ancelotti is contracted with the Spanish side until 2026 but is in jeopardy of getting sacked earlier due to poor performances throughout the season.

According to Madrid Universal, Ancelotti reportedly said he had not thought about the future.

“Whether my contract ends or not, it doesn’t matter to me,” the former Napoli manager said.

“I haven’t thought for a moment that I won’t be the coach for Real Madrid.”
