Orbit College FC coach Pogiso Makhoye has hailed the impact of Orlando Pirates loanee Siyabulela Mabele following his crucial goal that edged the club closer to promotion. Mabele scored a second-half goal against Casric Stars in the PSL Promotion playoffs at Solomon Mahlangu Stadium on Saturday.
The North West-based side is now at the top of the mini-log and needs a win against Cape Town City on Wednesday to secure promotion to the Betway Premiership.
The 22-year-old has been an outstanding player for Orbit this season, scoring 10 goals in 30 matches.
ORLANDO PIRATES LOANEE SIYABULELA MABELE’S IMPRESSIVE PERFORMANCE GIVES ORBIT AN UPPER HAND
“[Siyabulela] Mabele got a big opportunity, but we knew that the boy would score. He has been the top performer in this team,” Makhoye told SuperSport TV.

Makhoye acknowledges that his side did not play the most attractive football on the day, but is delighted that they got the job done.
“It was always the plan. We said we were not here to play pretty football because of the pitch,” said Makhoye.
“So we are not worried because as long as we don’t concede, we have every chance of scoring.
“I mean, in these playoffs, we have never conceded. Until the last game, we didn’t have a shot on target. Today we got a shot on target and it resulted in a goal.”
ORBIT COLLEGE A WIN AWAY FROM A HISTORIC PROMOTION TO THE ELITE LEAGUE
Orbit will now host Cape Town City at the Olympia Park Stadium on Wednesday, 25 June at 15:00.
“We need to remain calm. When things are going well for you, you just need to remain calm. We must not be excited, and complacency must never kick in because we will have a big game on Wednesday.
“It’s there for the taking. For now, we will let them celebrate because it’s the first time bearing Casric in the MFS. But we need to remain humble and calm, especially for that game.”
