Polokwane City 0-4 Kaizer Chiefs

Kaizer Chiefs got back to winning ways in the DStv Diski Challenge after thrashing Polokwane City 4-0 on Sunday morning at the Old Peter Mokaba Stadium.

Chiefs, however, could not hold on to top spot, as they were leapfrogged by Stellenbosch by virtue of a superior goal difference.

Amakhosi, tied on points with new leaders Stellies, had to settle for second spot on the table, two points ahead of third-placed Mamelodi Sundowns and fourth-placed Orlando Pirates, who are both equal on 15 points, although The Brazilians have a game in hand.

Orlando Pirates 3-0 Chippa United

Orlando Pirates won back-to-back matches after a resounding 3-0 win over Chippa United on Saturday morning at Isak Steyl Stadium.

After a goalless first stanza, Simphiwe Selepe broke the deadlock for Pirates 11 minutes into the second stanza and Siphamandla Msezane doubled their lead just after the hour-mark.

Joseph Makhanya’s charges were reduced to ten men 14 minutes before time after Dimpho Madalane got a second booking and was sent off.

However, Mehluleli Maphumulo sealed the deal for the Buccaneers, as he made it 3-0 in added time.

Mamelodi Sundowns 5-1 Cape Town City

Mamelodi Sundowns won their third game in a row after hammering Cape Town City 5-1 on Saturday morning at ABSA Tuks Stadium.

Thapelo Maseko and Siyabonga Mabena both scored a brace while the other goal was scored by Sipho Ngqakabana as Sundowns continued their revival and maintained their third spot on the log, with a game in hand.

Stellenbosch 6-0 Golden Arrows

Stellenbosch climbed to the top of the log after trouncing Golden Arrows 6-0 thanks to a brace by Kyle Bailey on Sunday afternoon at Idas Valley Stadium.

Bailey’s brace for Stellies was accompanied by goals apiece from Tyler Cicero, Faiz Abrahams, Cheswyn Philander and Tauric Gamildien.

The Cape Winelands outfit jumped above Kaizer Chiefs at the top of the log on goal difference, as the two sides are tied on 17 points.

SuperSport United 2-2 Marumo Gallants

SuperSport United missed the chance to win back-to-back games for the first time after they squandered a two-goal lead to draw 2-2 with Marumo Gallants on Saturday morning at TUT Stadium.

Tumelo Machete broke the deadlock for SuperSport just before the half-time break and Thato Motlhaloga doubled their lead just a minute later.

However, Thato and Marou got the goals from behind for Gallants in the second stanza, as the sides shared the spoils.

Magesi 0-1 Richards Bay

Richards Bay extended their unbeaten run to five matches after a narrow 1-0 win over Magesi on Saturday morning at Global Stadium.

Following a goalless first stanza, Nkosiyethu Mkhabela eventually broke the deadlock for the Natal Rich Boyz on the hour-mark and that was enough to give them their third victory of the season.
