Coach Mikel Arteta handed starts Gabriel Jesus, Leandro Trossard, Mikel Merino, Jorginho and Riccardo Calafiori following the draw with Chelsea.

The Gunners had the ball in the back of the net after five minutes when Jurrien Timber poked home from close rang, but the celebrations were cut short for an offside on Mikel Merino in the build-up.

The hosts got their reward on 15 minutes when Bukayo Saka collected a pass from Martin Odegaard and weaved out some space before rifling the ball into the top corner.

While Forest struggled to carve out chances, the Gunners continued to push for more but were thwarted by goalkeeper Matz Sels who produced a couple fine saves to deny Saka and Trossard in the final ten minutes of the first half.

The Gunners carried the momentum into the second period and doubled their lead when Saka picked out substitute Thomas Partey, who sent a wonderful strike into the far corner from 25 yards out.

With UEFA Champions League action coming up this week, Arteta opted to withdraw Calafiori for Oleksandr Zinchenko while Forest introduced Ramon Sosa and top scorer Chris Woods for the final 25 minutes.

The home side manage to bag a third goal with six minutes left on the clock as Raheem Sterling turned provider to pick out Ethan Nwaneri, who found the bottom corner with a first-time finish for his first goal in league.

As a result, the Gunners have become the second English club to secure 2,000th top-flight win.
