Khama Billiat has thrust himself to possibilities of awards again following an impressive season.
Khama Billiat’s name is buzzing as he moves towards completing his first full season playing top-league football back home in Zimbabwe.
Billiat has been a headline performer at modest Yadah FC since his arrival at the beginning of the year with his move having come after seven months without a club following his Kaizer Chiefs exit.

The 34-year-old has lived up to expectations as the highest earner in the league with 12 goals plus plenty assists that have kept him in contention for the top scorer award with two games to play.
In the race for the league’s scoring award, the leading scorer – Lynoth Chikuhwa of Highlanders – has 15 goals.
Yadah are still not completely safe from relegation with four teams going down and need all the points at home against Greenfuel on Sunday to secure their survival.
Besides the top scorer chase, Billiat is in line for the Soccer Star of the Year award, which has Walter Musona in contention.
The Soccer Star of the Year is the equivalent of the Player of the Season and plenty of the previous winners have played across the Limpopo River after winning the accolade.
That long list of previous winners has Peter Ndlovu, Wilfred Mugeyi, Agent Sawu, Tauya Murewa, Stewart Murisa, Maxwell Dube, Dazzy Kapenya, Energy Murambadoro, Josephy Kamwendo, Evans Chikwaikwai, Ramson Zhuwawo, Washington Arubi, Denver Mukamba, Danny Phiri, Rodwell Chinyengetere and Walter Musona.
However, it is only Mugeyi who has won both the two big awards – the Soccer Star of the Year in Zimbabwe (1992) playing for Black Aces and the PSL Player of the Season in South Africa (1996/97) at Bush Bucks.
Billiat won the 2025/16 Footballer of the Season award while at Mamelodi Sundowns and will join Mugeyi in winning both if he gets the Zim award this year.

The proof of how well he has done has been his return to the national team after reversing his decision to retire from international football.
On Thursday, Billiat played a blinder against Manica Diamonds despite his team suffering defeat.
