Mamelodi Sundowns head coach Miguel Cardoso admits he is not too pleased with the team’s fixture list in recent weeks.

Sundowns played their eighth game of February after defeating Sekhukhune United 4-2 on Wednesday evening in the Betway Premiership.

The win has Sundowns 15 points ahead of second-place Orlando Pirates, who now have four games in hand.

“I said it and I will repeat this, it’s absolutely insane what’s happening to Sundowns,” Cardoso told SuperSport after the game.

“The schedule it’s insane, it’s not normal, it doesn’t respect a human being and I think it should be thought of and well considered because I don’t know how it’s possible.

“But we keep alive, we struggle and we’ll continue pushing forward for sure.”

On the actual game, Cardoso reveals Sekhukhune’s approach did make things uncomfortable for his side.

“A very difficult match, very difficult context. It was good that in the right moments we scored, that gave us obviously an emotional advantage. But also, I think we started the game very well,” he said.

“We controlled very well the match, that allowed us to gain a good advantage. Anyway, it was difficult to react to the style of game that Sekhukhune put it. They just played long balls, long balls, aggressive.

“So, you are always trying to play football and build from the back. Quite difficult context. Anyway, respect for respect for my players they did their best and obviously they deserved to win,” he added.
