News reaching they Siya crew is that Orlando Pirates are believed to be in the running to sign a new striker.
As previously reported by the Soccer Laduma, Kaizer Chiefs have also been monitoring Richards Bay forward Yanela Mbuthuma, with the aim if bringing on board at the club.
Insiders have revealed to the Siya crew that that Buccaneers look set to table an offer for the 23-year-old, with indications that Pirates could look to leapfrog Chiefs in the chase for the player’s signature.
“There are several players that the club is looking at for next season but the first priority is the striking department and it’s believed that they have identified Richards Bay United’s Yanela Mbuthuma and the club is set to table an offer for him,” a source revealed to the Siya crew.
“At the moment I am not sure of how much they are offering but they are willing to sign him and that’s why they are tabling that offer. But you know Chiefs are also apparently interested in the same player and that’s why Pirates are ready to table the offer and have an advantage over their rivals,” the source added.
“They are looking at different strikers. They want to boost the striking force as they will be playing in many different competitions next season and that’s why they are set to table the offer for Mbuthuma and sign other strikers as well. He is not the only striker they are targeting as there is one from Kruger United and another one from Zambia as well.”
Mbuthuma has so far played 20 games this season, scoring on four occasions.
The Siya crew reached out to Chiefs for comment, but attempts were unsuccessful.
