Just a few days are left before the transfer window closes and the Siya crew understands that Soweto giants Kaizer Chiefs are making a serious effort to get the one piece missing in their puzzle.

Indications are that Amakhosi have officially made a bid for Stellenbosch FC midfielder Sibongiseni Mthethwa, but it won’t be simple for the Soweto giants to get him on board, though the Siya crew understands that they will make a serious effort before the window closes.

Chiefs brought in South American midfielder Edson Castillo to bolster the midfield and he has settled in well. They are believed to be looking for one more player to solidify the team, with the aim of boosting their chances of winning silverware this season.

Amakhosi missed out on signing Thabo Cele not so long ago, as the player made a move to Russia after leaving Poland. The Siya crew reported at the time that Chiefs had made an offer to sign Cele, but the player still wanted to play in Europe, which led to Amakhosi missing out on his services.

Now there is an opportunity to sign Mthethwa and Chiefs are understood to be trying their best to secure the services of the former Black Leopards player before the close of the window.
