The Dutchman was tipped to take over as manager of the Cape side ahead of the 2025/26 campaign after losing Eric Tinkler and Muhsin Ertugral throughout the current campaign, SABC Sport previously reported.
Ulderink, who previously coached in South Africa as Ajax Cape Town coach, has enjoyed stints as both manager and assistant manager in his home nation.
He started the 2024/25 campaign as assistant manager at Scottish side Glasgow Rangers, but left the club in December 2024 due to personal reasons, The Scottish Sun reported.
He joined the Belgian side in March 2025 after getting special permission from Rangers and was set to take charge until the end of the campaign.
However, life in Antwerp has been difficult for the ex-Ajax Cape Town coach who has failed to register a win during his first six games in charge, according to Transfermarkt.
Ulderink oversaw one defeat and one draw during the final two regular season games. After finishing 5th at the end of the season, Antwerp qualified for the Champions’ play-offs.
With four play-off games played, the side has managed just one draw and three defeats.
