26th October 2024 – (The Hague) The Dutch women’s soccer team achieved a historic milestone on Friday evening, securing a record-setting 15-0 victory against Indonesia in a friendly match held in Doetinchem.
Ranked 11th in the FIFA world rankings, the Netherlands dominated the match against the 104th-ranked Indonesian team. The scoreline at halftime was already a commanding 6-0, with the final tally reflecting the Netherlands’ overwhelming performance.
Dutch coach Andries Jonker introduced two debutants, Nina Nijstad and Lotte Keukelaar, both of whom made significant contributions by scoring twice. This match marked a significant improvement for the team, surpassing their previous largest victory of 13-1 against North Macedonia in 2009. The Netherlands also had notable wins by margins of 12 goals against Israel in 1977 (12-0) and Cyprus in 2022 (12-0).
