The 2024/25 campaign is nearing its end, and some of Africa’s premier marksmen will be looking to finish the season on a high.
Many of them have been prolific, and at the top of that list is Mohamed Salah, who has been finding the back of the net with regularity once again for Liverpool. Fans of the Reds will be relieved he signed a new two-year extension following his 33 goals in all competitions so far.
Not far behind the Pharaohs captain is Guinea international Serhou Guirassy. Since his breakout campaign with Stuttgart last season, in which he scored 30 goals, he has gone on to Borussia Dortmund and improved further, with 32 goals to his name this term.
While Die Schwarzgelben have perhaps underperformed this season — fighting for a place in the top four and next season’s UEFA Champions League — Guirassy has been in fine form, proving he is far from a one-season wonder.
A former Bundesliga rival of Guirassy, Omar Marmoush, ranks as the third most prolific African attacker in Europe’s top five leagues. The Egyptian began the season with Eintracht Frankfurt before completing a mid-season move to Manchester City. The versatile forward has scored 27 goals across his stints with both clubs this season.

Rounding off the top five are Brentford duo Yoane Wissa and Bryan Mbeumo. The Congolese and Cameroonian internationals have stepped up in the absence of the departed Ivan Toney, netting 19 and 18 goals respectively for the Bees this campaign.
