Interest is growing from Gauteng in a striker who was previously linked with Orlando Pirates, the Siya crew has learnt.
At the end of last season as Pirates were looking at the options to bolster their attacking line, Hungry Lions striker Muzomuhle Khanyi’s name came up among the players who were understood to be on the Soweto giants’ radar.

In recent months, Khanyi has been on form for the Motsepe Foundation Championship outfit, with the 25-year-old understood to be on the radar of more top flight clubs and mostly from Gauteng, according to close sources.
Against the University of Pretoria on Sunday, Khanyi scored two goals although his side still went down 3-2 at the Tuks Stadium.
Indications from sources are that the player has had enquiries made on his availability, with Lions unlikely to hold on to him beyond this season.
“It isn’t just because he (Khanyi) scored two goals against Tuks, but he is a player that has been attracting interest from PSL clubs for his high work-rate. It’s mostly the clubs from Gauteng and there’s a possibility he could leave at the end of the season,” said the source.

“Pirates are still in the picture and the other top clubs in Gauteng. There are a few scouts from the different clubs that have been following him. The two goals against Tuks are just another proof that the boy has been doing well, and you can expect more from him,” the source added.
