Kaizer Chiefs recently appointed veteran coach Cavin Johnson as the club’s head of development, and indications are that Amakhosi Sporting Director Kaizer Motaung Jnr, is believed to have been the driving force behind the appointment of Johnson.

Siya sources have revealed that Johnson, with his unique history with the Motaung family, was the catalyst in the development of Kaizer Jnr before he left for Europe.
“He was the coach that in true sense introduced him to football. He used to play cricket at school but when he joined Wits Juniors coach Cavin (Johnson) was the one who saw the talent in him. Before he went to Germany, he played under coach Cavin and that’s how he knew that he is a good youth coach. That experience with him at the junior level has helped Kaizer Jnr reach the decision to make the appointment,” a source informed the Siya crew.
