Despite the reported collapse of a deal to sell Royal AM to KwaZulu-Natal businessman Chockalingham “Roy” Moodley, the club has maintained its focus on preparations to be ready for action.
On Thursday, the Siya crew learnt that the Royal AM team was already informed about how Moodley was expected to takeover the club.

The players were looking forward to get back onto the pitch after their fixtures were postponed until the ownership situation is resolved, following Shauwn Mkhize’s troubles with SARS.
Moodley’s deal reportedly fell through due to unresolved technical issues and it remains to be seen when a new potential owner could now come on board.
Amidst the extended delay, insiders have indicated that Royal AM have not paused their training sessions and are still raring to go.
“The team didn’t just start training now (when hearing about the ownership). The club had been training in readiness of the games that they need to play. You can’t stay (unfit) without playing and (without) training and then hope you will train when the issues have been resolved. We never stopped training,” said the Siya source close to the team.
“And even today we had a friendly game against an ABC Motsepe League side. That’s how active we have been. You can’t wait for the last minute to start training. How will you cope with the tight schedule that could come with playing all the postponed games? So the team has been active,” the source added.
A second insider revealed how the team had initially been informed of the club’s “sale” to Moodley, but the situation quickly changed later in the day as the deal failed to materialise.

“Before everything else changed, the team was briefed about the new owners but now everything is confusing for the club though they won’t stop training as they have always been training without stopping,” the second source revealed.
Royal AM last competed in a league game on December 29 against TS Galaxy. If plans from the PSL are finalised, the club is expected to return to action on April 5 against Magesi FC.
When reached for comment, Royal AM General Manager Richard Makhoba declined to share the latest on the situation.
“No comment,” Makhoba briefly replied to Soccer Laduma.
