The story
Shortly before Khama Billiat made his official debut for Scottland FC on Sunday in their 2-0 win over Caps United in the Zimbabwe Premier Soccer League at Rufaro Stadium, Scotts Maphuma headlines the club’s kit launch in late February.
The seasoned forward, Billiat, made an immediate impact and provided an assist for Tymon Machope, who scored Scottland’s opening goal, before being substituted in the second half.
Scottland, who are newbies in the Zimbabwe PSL, also have several former Premier Soccer League players in their ranks, such as Kevin Moyo (ex-Chippa United), Ronald Pfumbidzai (ex-SuperSport United) and Talbert Shumba (ex-Free State Stars).
These aforementioned players are well aware of the growing Amapiano culture in South Africa and are witnessing its growing influence in Zimbabwe as Scotts Maphuma wowed the attendees at the kit launch with bangers such as, “Beke le Beke” and “ShayiMoto.”
Scottland FC rolled out the red carpet for the DJ, producer and songwriter, who was seen behind the wheel of a white Ferrari, rocking the club’s away kit for this season.
