Interest in Mamelodi Sundowns’ on-loan striker Etiosa Ighodaro is intensifying, with new developments indicating that a Moroccan side is keen on securing his services.

Now, insiders have stated that Wydad Casablanca have also joined the race for Ighodaro.
Sources close to both the player and the club indicated that there is believed to be growing interest from Wydad in Ighodaro.
“There is interest coming in, almost each and everyday with enquiries, as well as from Wydad who are the latest team. I can’t say whether coach Rulani Mokwena is influencing the (potential) move or if it’s the team’s scouts but they have made inquiries for him. It will now depend on the talks between Sundowns and the different teams interested in Ighodaro,” the insider told the Siya crew.

A second insider stated that Sundowns will make their final decision at the start of next season, depending on which strikers will remain at the club.
“They are not rushing now to let strikers go as they have clubs interested in current strikers like Peter Shalulile, Iqraam Rayners and (Lucas) Ribeiro Costa so they will wait to see who will remain before letting Ighodaro go pursue his career somewhere else,” the second source explained.
The 23-year-old Ighodaro, on loan at AmaZulu FC, has scored a few goals this season so far and is looking to make a bigger impact in the months to come.
