October 25, 2023

In anticipation of this week’s 1347th edition of Soccer Laduma, we preview some of the features included. The latest edition will be available at your nearest outlet on Thursday, October 26th.

Molefi Ntseki Feature

For some time now, some in the local football industry have been ‘waiting for the other shoe to drop’, so to speak, as it became apparent that Kaizer Chiefs and Ntseki weren’t a match made in heaven. It’s not often a club’s fans want to get physical with the head coach on three separate occasions after games, all before the season reaches the halfway mark. Despite the modest coach’s best efforts, it just didn’t work out, and the decision was made on Monday to part ways amicably. What cost the former Bafana Bafana coach his Amakhosi job though? What could he have done better? This revealing Soccer Laduma feature has the answers.

Melusi Buthelezi Interview

Buthelezi was amongst four new faces signed by Orlando Pirates at the start of the campaign. So far, his time at the club has been all about learning, though has been thrust into the reckoning following Sipho Chaine’s injury suffered against Cape Town Spurs. The ex-Ts Galaxy man is yet to conceded in two outings, and with a Soweto Derby on the horizon, will be hoping to keep his spot and show what he’s capable of. At the Rockets, he worked his way from fourth-choice to number one, so knows about what it takes. In his interview with Soccer Laduma this week, Buthelezi lets us into his headspace!

Sandile Zungu Interview

This year, AmaZulu FC are celebrating 91 years of existence. Since taking over as owner, Zungu has made it his mission to take the club to another level. Of course, a bit of time and patience won’t hurt, but the outspoken club boss wants to see Usuthu in a position where they are winning trophies consistently, which would go a long way in attracting more supporters, especially outside of the province of KZN. In an interview with Soccer Laduma this week, Zungu talks about the birthday celebrations, his journey with the club and why he believes it’s time for VAR to be introduced in the PSL.

Also In Issue 1347…

Hlompho Kekana Interview

Recognised as the first and only Mamelodi Sundowns captain thus far to lift the CAF Champions League, Kekana has seen and done it all in the game. That piece of success ranks high on the list of achievements in a career that spanned over 17 years. In total, the former midfield maestro won eight league titles and was part of the Brazilians side that participated in the FIFA Club World Cup. In his interview with Soccer Laduma this week, ‚Gonzalez‘ reflects on some of the most memorable moments of his career and touches on the challenges facing the current team this season.

Xolela Ndude Interview

Not a lot of people get the opportunity to see inside a training session at one of the biggest clubs in the world, Liverpool. This is not to mention getting to spend a day learning from one of football’s greatest managers, Jurgen Klopp. Well, for Hout Bay United Football Community’s Ndude, it is a dream that has come true! The Cape Town-based club’s U18 head coach and senior team’s assistant manager recently travelled abroad to see how the Reds and their gaffer work behind the scenes. He sat down with Soccer Laduma to detail his amazing experience.

Revolving ColumnT

his week, we hear from Saddam Maake, the prominent Kaizer Chiefs supporter, who is at pains to explain events that unfolded at Mbombela Stadium on Saturday, where now former coach Molefi Ntseki was pelted with missiles by a certain section of the club’s fans. He also questions the role of Communications Managers in modern football.

Siyagobhoza

In this week’s edition of the popular Siyagobhoza section, there is news on a Mamelodi Sundowns player who looks set for an exit, who Kaizer Chiefs are talking to in efforts to beef up their technical team, an Orlando Pirates attacker who has a big decision to make, and more…
