Bradley Carnell is working in the MLS.
After reports in other local media that AmaZulu FC were interested in hiring former St. Louis City coach Bradley Carnell, Usuthu have now denied those rumours.
Speaking to Soccer Laduma in an exclusive interview, AmaZulu PRO Philani Ndlela stated that there is no truth to the reports regarding any interest in Carnell.
Ndlela told the Siya crew that Usuthu had never shown interest in the former Bafana Bafana left-back at any given time.

“No, that’s not true. That’s fake news my brother. There was no contact with coach Bradley Carnell and the club was never interested in him. As I am saying, that’s fake news,” Ndlela told Soccer Laduma.
However, a second Siya source provided a contrasting point of view, saying that Usuthu were interested in the former Kaizer Chiefs left-back and that the deal could not happen only due to poor timing.

“Yes, it’s true he was one of the shortlisted coaches including Benny McCarthy and Steven Pienaar but none of the above were hired. And although there were different reasons for Benny and Steven, it was all about timing for Bradley Carnell,” said the second source.
“There was very little time to sort things out after the departure of Pablo Franco Martin and there were games coming and it was believed that Arthur Zwane and (Vusimuzi Vilakazi) Kanu, who was already at the club in a different position with the DDC, would be the right appointments to take the team forward at least for this season. It was all just about timing as it could have taken longer for coach Carnell to arrive while the team needed coaches urgently,” the second source stated.
AmaZulu are currently lying in 15th position with three points from the five games they have played so far.
