The Chiefs player was selected by Broos when he was with Sekhukhune United in the past, but was then dropped since his time with Amakhosi. Maart himself spoke to the media about how his international career has gone backward since joining the Glamour Boys.
“It’s true I was being called up to the national team when I was at Sekhukhune and I enjoyed my team there,” Maart told the media.
“I can’t say why I am not being called up right now but you know the national team coach has his own right to say what he says and select his own players that he feels are right at the time.

“But what I can tell you is that there is a lot of quality at Chiefs. We have players who can play for the national team if given the opportunity. For now, our focus is on Kaizer Chiefs. We want to help the team achieve what we want to achieve and we are working hard on that,” Maart said.
Chiefs drew 0-0 against Royal AM in the Premiership on Saturday.
“We really didn’t have a break. We had to continue working so that we keep the momentum going from our previous two league games which we won,” Maart concluded.
