Even with Rodri missing the last three games, the England international has found it tough to get regular minutes under Pep Guardiola.
The Daily Star has reported that the English midfielder could now leave in the January transfers as the club are prepared to let him leave.
Reports claim that Newcastle United and Juventus could look to pursuit the 27-year-old when the January transfer window opens.
City manager Pep Guardiola revealed before the game against Brighton and Hove Albion that anything can happen when the window is open.
“The transfer window is over, now we are here together. When we need a game with transitions or games with something with chaos Kalvin is perfect,” Guardiola told reporters, as per teamtalk.
“When there is something you need to do, there are still one or two players who can do it better. That’s the simple reason.
“He will be here until winter. After, I don’t know what will happen because nobody knows once the window is open.”
