Crop Comments: While Bay and Rocky River will throw down in the biggest matchup of the season Oct. 4, No. 3 Avon Lake also had its crack at Bay on Oct. 2, with the two sides in a top-three match. Those three teams have separated themselves, though this week will be a prime week for good soccer. … Firelands, Vermilion and Avon remain unchanged. The Falcons have locked up their conference while Vermilion got the best of Oberlin last week in a solid played game by both sides. … Open Door made a jump to No. 7, with Oberlin dropping down one spot. … Rounding out the final two spots are Amherst’s re-entry at No. 9, with Westlake hanging on at No. 10. … Midview has the tiebreaker over Amherst, but the recent stretch of Comets play gave them an edge in my view for this week, though those two have traded places the last few weeks.

Note: Records as of games played through Sept. 30
