Burnley coach Scott Parker has provided an update on Lyle Foster, who picked up an injury against West Bromwich Albion earlier this week.

Foster was a second-half substitute against West Brom but did not finish the game after being forced off late in the encounter.

Despite the injury, Foster was called up to the Bafana Bafana squad for next week’s 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

The good news is that Parker revealed that the South African striker’s situation has improved ahead of Saturday’s clash Swansea City.

“We just need to check on him, but he’s improved drastically from the other night,” Parker said, as per Burnley Express.

“Maybe there was an option not to bring him off, but we only had one more sequence of subs remaining, so I didn’t want to run the risk of bringing two on and then Lyle couldn’t go there.

“But he’s coming better today, so we’ll see where we are tomorrow with Lyle to know exactly where we are.”

When asked Foster will be fit Saturday’s trip to Wales, Parker added, “It depends really.

“I think if he’s not fit for the weekend, then it’s probably highly unlikely that he would travel.

“I suppose it would just depend on timescales of where we see it. Again, we’ll make that call and we’ll see where we are tomorrow [Friday] with Lyle.”
