Orlando Pirates midfielder Monnapule Saleng has reportedly signed a new contract with the club after a superb first ‘half’ of the 2022/23 season.

After returning to Buccaneers following a loan spell at Swallows FC, the 24-year-old Saleng has been in superb form for the Soweto giants.
He helped the club win the MTN8 trophy for their first silverware of the season.

“According to a KickOff club source, Saleng has been offered a new improved contract by Bucs.
“Players signed from First Division and development academy always sign a certain contract when promoted to the first team. There is a clause that allow them get improved contracts depending their performance and behaviour in the first team,” the KickOff website reported.
“Saleng has done well to get an improved contract. He is also now playing for Bafana Bafana that justified why Pirates have offered him an improved contract.”
Meanwhile, Orlando Pirates will return to league action following the 2022 FIFA World Cup break when they face Mamelodi Sundowns at Loftus Versfeld on Friday, 30 December.
Kick-off is at 15:30.
Orlando Pirates are currently in fifth place in the standings with 19 points after 13 matches, while defending champions Mamelodi Sundowns are top of the log with 28 points from just 12 games.
