SEASIDE — The Monterey Bay F.C. finishes up the United Soccer League regular season Saturday hosting the Orange County F.C. at 7 p.m.
The match will be broadcast on KION (46 & 23 over the air, 46 Dish, 27 DirecTV and 5/705 HD Xfinity), with live streaming available on Hulu, Paramount+, YouTubeTV, FuboTV, and ESPN+.
A loss or tie will keep the Union from advancing to the playoffs, but at the same time, a win doesn’t assure the team a playoff spot. The Monterey Bay F.C. entered the final weekend of the regular season in tenth in the Western Conference. The top eight teams advance to the playoffs.
The Union, with 11 wins, 8 draws and 14 losses, have 41 points in the standings. Ahead of them are the ninth place Oakland Roots with 42 points, eighth-place New Mexico with 43 points, and seventh place El Paso with 44 points. Teams earn three points with a win and one point with a draw. Orange County is in third place with 54 points, having already clinched a playoff spot.
New Mexico faced Memphis in a Friday night match which could have clinched it a playoff spot, while El Paso visits Oakland in a 7 p.m. match Saturday.
The Union has lost three of its past four matches.
