Even after the France captain made it known publicly that he did not plan to extend his contract at the Parc des Princes when it expires at the end of the season, Los Merengues made no formal approach or said a thing about their mooted interest in the Clairefontaine alumni.
That was until earlier on this week, when one of Real’s board members claimed that the Paris-born attacker would be a perfect fit for the record European champions and envisages him signing for the club once his current deal in France ends.

The 2018 FIFA World Cup winner has remained tight-lipped about his future, but PSG are now seemingly willing to do whatever it takes to keep him at the club for even longer.
