TS Galaxy head coach Sead Ramovic’s post-match comments after his side eliminated Mamelodi Sundowns on penalties after a 2-2 draw in extra-time in the Carling Knockout, left viewers confused.
Ramovic intended to discuss the Israel-Palestine conflict but his comments were censored by SuperSport TV.

The Rockets’ win over Sundowns in the round of 16 clash was overshadowed by the leg-breaking tackle on Bernard Parker by Brazilians’ midfielder Bongani Zungu. The Tshwane giants were also missing seven players who had arrived late after representing Bafana Bafana away to Ivory Coast and then Ramovic created another talking point after the game.
Ramovic’s post-match comments lasted only five seconds on SuperSport TV after saying, “I don’t want to talk about the game.”
The Premier Soccer League has a complainant media manual, where coaches are mandated to speak to the media after the game.

Although it initially appeared that the Germany-born coach could find himself in hot water with the League, for refusing to conduct a post-match interview, Ramovic has now revealed that he did speak but his comments were cut off and censored because he was commenting on the Israel-Palestine conflict.
“The last six days it was not easy for me, for my staff, because we had to prepare but on the other hand in your private life you can see the sad pictures, videos, what is happening in Palestine,” Ramovic explained on Marawa Sports Worldwide.
“Before the game I asked the SuperSport guys that I would like to talk about it and I’ll like to talk about humanity, they did not allow me.

“What I said after the game, when I said I really don’t want to talk about the game, I continued to talk but actually they cut me off. I said, ‘Our prayers are with the people of Palestine, as the President of South Africa has said it, we are against any kind of violence to humanity…’,” he said.
In 2018, former Free State Stars coach Luc Eymael was charged by the PSL for failing to attend a post-match interview.
Eymael was fined R100, 000, which was suspended for 24 months, after he reached a plea bargain with the league.
