Two teams that have made vastly different starts to the 2025 Major League Soccer season will go head-to-head in round three on Saturday when Columbus Crew welcome Houston Dynamo to Lower.com Field.
For the home side, securing a third straight victory will be the major objective, while their visitors head to Ohio aiming to get their league journey up and running off the back of consecutive defeats.
We say: Columbus Crew 3-1 Houston Dynamo
With one eye on their continental clash against Los Angeles FC, Columbus Crew could be tempted to make some changes here but should still have enough in the tank to comfortably dispatch Houston Dynamo.
We fully expect a routine win for the home side at the end of the 90 minutes.

We say: Seattle Sounders 1-2 Los Angeles FC
Goals have been a given when these two teams meet, and we expect this weekend’s clash to be no exception.
However, we can just about see Los Angeles FC doing enough to take home all three points when all is said and done.

Seeking their first away win of the 2025 Major League Soccer season, the New York Red Bulls travel to Mercedes-Benz Stadium for a date with Atlanta United on Saturday.
On matchday two last weekend, the Five Stripes were beaten 2-0 by Charlotte FC, with the reigning Eastern Conference champions winning their first of the campaign, 2-0 over Nashville SC.
We say: Atlanta United 1-2 New York Red Bulls
Atlanta are struggling to deal with routine balls in the box and against an opportunistic Red Bulls side, and we fear it will prove costly for the home team on Saturday.

DC United and Sporting Kansas City will both be seeking their first win of the 2025 MLS campaign when they face off at Audi Field on Sunday.
While the hosts have had to settle for draws in their opening two matches, the visitors have endured back-to-back defeats.
We say: DC United 1-0 Sporting Kansas City
The last three installments of this fixture has often favoured the teams playing at home, with DC United winning one in that period, an outcome we believe will be the same after the final whistle on Sunday.
The away side’s results on the road have been abysmal, and while the hosts have also struggled for wins at home, their potency in attack could prove to be the difference here.

In their home opener of the 2025 Major League Soccer season, New York City FC will welcome Orlando City to Yankee Stadium on Saturday.
The Boys in Blue are still winless in the campaign, suffering a 1-0 defeat at the hands of Los Angeles FC at the beginning of March, while the Lions beat Toronto 4-2 last week.
We say: New York City FC 2-1 Orlando City
Despite their current record, NYCFC’s start to the season has not been terrible, and we believe the energy of the home crowd and facing an Orlando side that have not been great defensively will propel the Pigeons to their first victory of the season.

We say: Austin FC 2-1 Colorado Rapids
While Colorado Rapids will take the positives from their stalemate against Dallas last time out as they set out in search of their first league win, they have failed to win any of their last six competitive games on the road since mid September.
Austin are unbeaten in their most recent three home games against the Rapids and we are backing them to brush off their narrow defeat against Portland by claiming maximum points here.

We say: Nashville SC 2-0 Portland Timbers
Having stumbled into the new campaign, Nashville now face the stern challenge of a spirited Portland side whm they have failed to get the better of in any of their previou four encounters. However, the Boys in Gold boast a superior and more experienced squad, and we fancy them to secure a much-needed victory in front of their home supporters this weekend.

These two teams currently sit in ninth and fourth position respectively in the Western Conference table.
We say: Real Salt Lake 1-1 San Diego

We say: San Jose Earthquakes 2-1 Minnesota United
Given the manner of their opening two victories, San Jose Earthquakes are the clear favourites to win this contest. Although we are backing the visitors to cause them problems, the Earthquakes should still come through this contest with maximum points.
