The Siya crew has been led to believe that the future of Orlando Pirates defender Nkosinathi Sibisi is set to be discussed in the coming months, with his camp expecting to hear from the Buccaneers in January over whether they will exercise the option in his contract.

The former Golden Arrows defender will see his three-year contract with the Soweto giants expiring at the end of June 2025, but they have a two-year option in the deal, the Siya crew has been reliably informed.

According to information received by the Siya crew, Pirates are expected to communicate in January on whether or not they want to exercise the option in the 29-year-old’s contract

Indications are that Pirates are keen on keeping the Bafana Bafana international, who has been in fine form for the club recently following his return to the starting line-up. Sibisi has been wearing the captain’s armband and it’s understood that the Buccaneers value his presence both on and off the field as a leader.

An announcement on the future of Sibisi is expected to be made in the new year, but the Siya crew understands that both parties are in a good position to come to an agreement over what happens beyond the end of this season.
