The EMPD have confirmed that Shaun Mogaila of Sekhukhune United has handed himself over to police following a fatal crash this morning, October 30.

This morning, October 30, a crash on Andrew Mapheto Road claimed the life of a nine-year-old girl.
A female driver, transporting her nine-year-old daughter and a 13-year-old child, was allegedly struck by another vehicle.
The 9-year-old girl tragically succumbed to her injuries and was declared dead on the scene, while the 13-year-old sustained serious injuries and was transported to Thembisa Tertiary Hospital for treatment.
It is alleged that a 29-year-old driver fled the scene following the collision.
Thabiso Makgatho, media liaison officer for the EMPD shared details on the incident.

“When EMPD officers arrived at the scene they found four bottles of potent alcohol, a powder suspected to be cocaine and ‘weed edibles’ in the vehicle.”
A case of culpable homicide, reckless and negligent driving, and fleeing the scene of an accident has been opened.
The driver’s identity has not been confirmed and will form part of a detailed police investigation.
