ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU) – One year after falling to Colony High School in the 2023 State Title game, The Wolverines are back on top of high school soccer. They defeated the Knights 2-0. That’s a victory they achieved minus multiple starters and team head coach Brian Lux.
“There were a lot of thing going on before the game that can be talked about another day,” Lux said after the win. “The boys put together a great game and showed what we showed all season. We’re the best team in the state.”
Lux, along with multiple players, were suspended for the championship game following a confrontation that broke out at the end of Friday’s semi-final match between the Wolverines and the West Anchorage Eagles. The incident remains under investigation by the Alaska School Activities Association, said the organization’s executive director, Billy Strickland.
