STEPHENVILLE, Texas – For the third season in a row, Tarleton State Women’s Soccer was awarded the College Team Academic Award presented by the United Soccer Coaches, recognized for their exemplary performance in the classroom during the 2024-25 academic year.

A total of 697 soccer teams (283 men, 414 women) posted a team grade point average of 3.0 or higher, thereby earning the United Soccer Coaches Team Academic Award for the 2024-25 academic year.

Tarleton State Women’s Soccer was one of five Western Athletic Conference teams recognized for the Team Academic Award. Of these teams, Tarleton State ranked the highest with an overall team GPA of 3.74. This marks the third award winning season for the Texans, as well as head coach Pete Cuadrado‘s 20th time winning the team award.

“Proud to see the ladies get recognized for their hard work in the classroom, well deserved,” said head coach Cuadrado.

The squad excelled in the classroom during their fall season. Not only did the Texans set a new team GPA record, but they also posted the highest fall semester GPA by any Tarleton State program last year. The crew notched a 3.80 GPA while in their competition season and earned their first bid to the 2024 WAC Soccer Tournament. The team also set a new record with 17 student-athletes recording a perfect 4.0 term GPA.

Tarleton State will start their season on the road against UTRGV on August 14th, followed by their home opener on Sunday, August 17th at 1 P.M. CDT against Houston Christian.
