Conflicting reports emerging out of Egypt discuss Bafana Bafana vice-captain, Percy Tau’s link with a potentially surprising switch to Al Ahly rivals Zamalek.
With Tau’s Al Ahly contract running down and approaching its final six months, talk has been rife about where the 30-year-old player will play his football next season.
It is understood that Tau’s time with Al Ahly is expected to come to an end upon the expiration of his contract with the club in June 2025, owing to a number of factors including a textured relationship with the club’s head coach Marcel Kohler.
Now, multiple reports in Egypt have subsequently linked Tau with a shock move to Zamalek – Al Ahly’s direct rivals.

However Masrtimes, has provided a different view, as they reported that Zamalek are not in the running to sign Tau at this point in time.
“Egypt Times learned from its sources that there is no intention to enter into negotiations with the South African player, especially since the player is advanced in age and wants to play professionally,” the report stated.
Tau has made six appearances in all competitions for Al Ahly this season and scored two goals in the process.
