Twin power: Jerome’s Alondra and Vanessa Pulido to play soccer at CSI

TWIN FALLS, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) — Twin sisters Alondra and Vanessa Pulido from Jerome High School have committed to the College of Southern Idaho to play soccer for the Golden Eagles.

They were a bright spot for Jerome, earning All-Conference honors in the fall for the Tigers as center midfielders.

Jerome finished 5-9-3 (4-6-2 Great Basin) on the season. The Tigers beat Wood River in the first round of the District Tournament before losing two games ending its season.

Attending a college close to their family was important to the sisters.

The Pulido girls are joining the inaugural Golden Eagle program, under first-year head coach Alex Ferreira, who has been actively recruiting Magic Valley talent.

“The coach stands out because we know him and we got to meet him since the beginning,” Alondra said. “He’s nice and he talks to us like normal.”

Vanessa echoed her sister with the chance of playing for Ferreira and CSI.

“I wasn’t looking at any schools. I always knew I wanted to play college ball and I didn’t know where,” Vanessa told KMVT. “I didn’t want to go far from home because I knew my parents wouldn’t like it. I saw this opportunity and I talked to Coach Alex, he offered me a scholarship and I was happy to take it.”

The two will look to bring success to the program in its inaugural season.

They join Canyon Ridge’s Jayva Hicks in signing with the program from the Magic Valley.
