The Siya crew has been led to believe that a few of Mamelodi Sundowns’ loaned out players face the danger of being permanently let go by the club when the season comes to an end.

As usual, Sundowns have loaned out some players this season, with the list including the likes of Etiosa Ighodaro, Luvuyo Phewa, Siyanda Msani, Ricardo Goss, Sipho Mbule, Thabang Sibanyoni and Matias Esquivel.

Katlego Mohamme, Thabiso Kutumela, Nyiko Mobbie and Malebogo Modise are four players who left permanently after last season, having spent time away on loan from the club, and it appears more will follow at the end of the campaign. Players who face the possibility of leaving permanently are Sibanyoni, Msani, Phewa and Ighodaro.

In an interview with the Siya crew not so long ago, Goss revealed that he thought his move away from Sundowns this season would be permanent, but that was not the case. Goss and his camp could look to make the stay at SuperSport United a permanent one, with the player determined to hold onto his place in the Bafana Bafana squad.

Returning to Sundowns, especially with Ronwen Williams still there, would put Goss’ chances of national team selection under threat because he might struggle to get game time at Chloorkop.

Mbule remains part of the plans at Sundowns, but indications are that a lot of that will depend on the type of season he has with Sekhukhune. He has made a promising start and has been included in the Bafana Bafana preliminary squad for the upcoming 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

Part of the list of players who have been loaned out this season by Sundowns is Thando Buthelezi, who is at Richards Bay. Indications are that he is part of the plans at Sundowns, who are closely monitoring his progress at Richards Bay.
