Kaizer Chiefs are set to travel to Gqeberha in the Eastern Cape this weekend for the inaugural Home of Legends Cup tournament at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium. However, the team will be without their head coach, Nasreddine Nabi.

Chiefs have confirmed via their official website that the Tunisian mentor is currently recovering at home following a minor orthopedic procedure.

Amakhosi fans can breathe a sigh of relief, though, as Nabi is expected to return in time for the club’s next league match against Richards Bay in Polokwane on 27 November.

In Nabi’s absence, the team will be in the capable hands of assistant coaches Khalil Ben Youssef and Cedric Kaze, who will lead the side as they face Golden Arrows in the first semi-final of the weekend’s tournament.

The match is set to kick off at 10:00 on Saturday. Following that, Mamelodi Sundowns will square off against Chippa United at 13:00, with the tournament final scheduled for 17:00, featuring the winners of the two semi-final clashes.

Official: SuperSport Announce Nurkovic Arrival | Soccer Laduma

SuperSport United have officially announced the signing of Serbian striker Samir Nurkovic.

Nurkovic, 32, has been without a club since parting ways with TS Galaxy this season. The burly forward was previously linked with a move to Gavin Hunt’s side, although the two parties could not agree terms at the time.

However, SuperSport’s recent striker crisis has seen the club expedite the process to get the former Kaizer Chiefs man on board on a one-year contract.

The 32-year-old will make his debut in the January transfer window, as the club waits for his work permit.

”Samir is a proven number nine target man with a good track record and who will fit in well with our style of play, which looks to get crosses in from wide areas and to capitalize on set pieces,“ SuperSport United CEO Stanley Matthews said on the club’s new acquisition.

Nurkovic was previously on the books of Amakhosi, and Royal AM, and he currently has a case with FIFA against the latter club.

Five Weeks After Retiring, Spain Icon Andrés Iniesta Is A Soccer Club Owner

Five Weeks After Retiring, Spain Icon Andrés Iniesta Is A Soccer Club Owner

A month after hanging up his cleats, Andrés Iniesta is still a player in the soccer world.

Except it’s no longer from the middle of the field, where he spent the lion’s share of a sparkling career weaving his magic for Spain and Barcelona. This time, Iniesta will be shaping the game from an executive position after becoming the co-owner of Danish third-division enterprise Helsingør.

The acquisition happened through Iniesta’s sport and entertainment brand Never Say Never, alongside real estate investment company Stoneweg, with the pair buying most of the 19-year-old club’s shares. Based in the Scandinavian country’s northeast, just across the water from Sweden, the team sits seventh in a 12-strong division after 15 league games.

While there’s a sense of surprise, with Iniesta making the move so soon after ending his playing days in the UAE with Emirates Club, negotiations between Iniesta’s company and Helsingør began as early as April (Danish), according to the Danish outlet Tipsbladet. Now, the 40-year-old is fresh from experiencing the Helsingør training base firsthand.

“The goal is to see the side improve year after year, players coming through the academy, facilities getting better, and a team people can feel proud of,” Iniesta told national channel TV2, as reported today. Exciting times for Iniesta then, but arguably more so for the young players there, who now have a legendary World Cup winner overseeing their progress in the sport.

What Barcelona Great Iniesta Brings

Famous players going on to purchase or part-control clubs is hardly new. Iniesta’s former Barça teammate Gerard Pique has controlled third-tier Andorra for six years. Meanwhile, retired stars like David Beckham, Paolo Maldini, Ronaldo Nazario, and Zlatan Ibrahimovic have dipped their toes into ownership. And while it requires patience before such projects click into gear, they don’t always result in roaring success.

As someone who’s already gained wealth and status in the game, Helsingør could be a fun, nothing-to-lose endeavor for Iniesta. If taken seriously, the project has legs, however. Despite not owning a club before, the Spaniard comes from Fuentealbilla, a small locality like Helsingør (although Helsingør is bigger), and understands the game outside the major cities. He also came through Barcelona’s famous youth system and will offer input on developing the youngsters.

Equally, he has a taste for business, with partnerships from Ariel detergent to Konami video games and ventures from Mikakus footwear to his native wine company, Bodega Iniesta, among his repertoire. Scandinavia’s soccer market is exciting, too. It doesn’t have the strongest leagues but produces enviable stars: Erling Haaland, Viktor Gyökeres, and Rasmus Højlund are examples. A short drive from Helsingør, Superliga outfit Nordsjælland is fuelled by the novel Ghana-based academy Right To Dream, offering a pathway for African talents.

Iniesta lacks a Ballon d’Or trophy, yet has won the World Cup, European Championship, and Champions League—claiming man of the match awards in all three—not to mention a host of domestic accolades with Barcelona. Acclimatizing to life outside the dressing room, he’s now sensing further prosperity from the director’s box.

LALIGA boasts some of the best talents in world football, and many are from the African continent, so we’ve decided to highlight a few who will be representing their nations in the final round of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

Check Out: Kane Hits Out At England Teammates After 8 Pull-Outs!

Africa has been showing out in the Spanish top flight during the 2024/25 campaign, and no club illustrates this better than Villarreal.

During this past offseason, the Yellow Submarine recruited heavily from the mineral-rich continent, and now these players are shining.

The trio of Logan Costa, Pape Gueye and Nicolas Pepe were all brought in by Marcelino, and they’ve proven integral to the club’s top-four start in the league standings.

Each of them has been regular starters for the Spanish tactician in LALIGA and will be looking to propel the Valencia-based side back into Europe’s premier club competition, the UEFA Champions League, by this season’s end.

With Gueye’s Senegal and Pepe’s Ivory Coast having already booked their places for the continental showpiece in Morocco, Costa will be hoping he can return to the Estadio de la Ceramica with Cape Verde having secured their ticket for Africa’s biggest tournament as well.

Costa, Gueye and Pepe, however, were not the only African players who made the switch to the Iberian Peninsula during the previous transfer window, as Kelechi Iheanacho also made the move.

The 28-year-old traded in the East Midlands of Leicester City for the sunny skies of Seville after he completed a free transfer to Sevilla.

The Nigeria international started the season flanked by compatriot Chidera Ejuke on the left-hand side and a player who also has African ancestry from the Democratic Republic of Congo, Dodi Lukebakio, on the right wing, as they looked to form a potent attacking trident.

The 2013 Under-17 FIFA World Cup Golden Ball winner arrives at the Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan with a tremendous amount of experience, but during this international break, he will be hoping he leads his team to yet another AFCON final by taking the first step and completing qualification.

In a match that is going ahead despite security concerns, France need a win at home today to keep alive their hopes of finishing top of Nations League Group A2 as they host Israel.

Currently a point behind leaders Italy, the hosts will be without captain Kylian Mbappé, who has been left out of the squad by Didier Deschamps, with the coach describing the move as a “one-off decision” amid the Real Madrid star’s recent drop in form.

France face an Israel team that has found the going tough in this tournament’s top tier, having suffered four defeats from their four fixtures so far, with another loss today set to ensure their relegation to League B.

France host Israel at the Stade de France in Paris on Thursday, Nov. 14. Kickoff is set for 8:45 p.m. CET local time in France, which makes it a 7:45 p.m. GMT start in the UK, 2:45 p.m. ET or 11:45 a.m. PT kickoff in the US and Canada, and a 6:45 a.m. AEDT start on Friday, Nov. 15 in Australia.

Below, we’ll outline the best live TV streaming services to use to watch the game live wherever you are in the world.

Fubo/CNET

There’s a lot to like about Fubo. In addition to it’s own Fubo Sports Network, it offers a wide selection of channels, plus its sports focus makes it especially attractive to soccer fans, as well as NBA, NHL and MLB fans who live in an area served by one of Fubo’s RSNs. It’s also a great choice for NFL fans, since it’s one of three services, alongside YouTube TV and Hulu, that offer NFL Network and optional RedZone. The biggest hole in Fubo’s lineup is the lack of Warner Bros. Discovery networks, including HGTV, Food Network, Cartoon Network, CNN, TNT and TBS — especially since the latter two carry a lot of sports content, in particular NBA, NHL and MLB. Those missing channels, and the $80 price tag, makes it less attractive than YouTube TV for most viewers. Read our Fubo review.

DirecTV

DirecTV Stream’s basic $80-a-month package includes a number of sports channels, but doesn’t include Fox Soccer Plus. For that you’ll need the service’s Sports Pack which costs an additional $14.99/month and includes Fox Soccer Plus along with other sports channels like MLB Network, NBA TV, and NHL Network.

 Read our DirecTV Stream review.

Sling/CNET

Sling TV’s Blue plan includes FS1, making it a great option for those wanting to watch international soccer action. It’s $40 a month ($45 in some places) and includes over 40 channels, including other sports channels like ESPN. In order to watch this match you’ll need Sling’s Sports Extra add-on which costs an additional $11 a month and includes Fox Soccer Plus.

There’s a tricky task in store for interim boss Lee Carsley and his England side today as they take on League B Group 2 leaders Greece at the Athens Olympic Stadium.

The visitors suffered a shock 2-1 defeat to the Greeks at Wembley last month with Carsley’s decision to experiment with an attacking but unbalanced lineup backfiring in a big way.

That result has handed the initiative to Greece who know a win here will ensure they claim top spot in Group 2 and gain promotion to League A.

Ivan Jovanovic’s side will likely feel confident of pulling off a similar shock today, with big names such as Trent Alexander-Arnold, Bukayo Saka, Declan Rice, Phil Foden, Jack Grealish and Cole Palmer all unavailable for the visitors.

Greece host England at Athens Olympic Stadium on Thursday, Nov. 14. Kickoff is set for 9:45 p.m. EET local time in Greece, which makes it a 7:45 p.m. GMT start in the UK, 2:45 p.m. ET or 11:45 a.m. PT kickoff in the US and Canada, and a 6:45 a.m. AEDT start on Friday, Nov. 15 in Australia.

New Frontrunner ‘Emerges’ To Replace Yanga Coach | Soccer Laduma

Young Africans are reportedly looking for a new assistant coach.

Young Africans are reportedly looking for a new assistant coach.

With Miguel Gamondi and his fellow coaches believed to be skating on thin ice at Young Africans, a new frontrunner has reportedly emerged to coach the East African giants.

Check Out: Rulani’s Wydad Issue Statement Amid Struggling Form

Earlier this week, Soccer Laduma revealed that the chiefs at Yanga had called the Argentine tactician in for a meeting this weekend to discuss the back-to-back defeats the team had suffered against Azam FC and Tabora United.

Ultimately, it was decided not to fire the 57-year-old, but according to The Citizen, this has not stopped the Jangwani Street giants from looking for potential replacements.

It was rumoured that the head coach of CS Constantine, Kheireddine Madoui, was the prime candidate to succeed the Olavarría native.

However, with the Algerian side sitting atop the league standings and set to commence their CAF Confederation Cup campaign soon, it is believed that the 47-year-old would only be willing to leave at the end of the season, as he wants to see out the rest of the 2024/25 campaign.

So, for the time being, Gamondi is set to stay on as Yanga head coach, but according to the Tanzanian publication, it is his assistant whose job is under immediate threat.

It is understood that the club are looking to appoint former Azam FC head coach Abdihamid Moallin as their new second-in-charge.

The United States native is said to have recently resigned from his role at KMC, and the East African giants want to bring him in to replace their current Senegalese assistant, Moussa N’Daw.

Young Africans have held talks with Moallin to discuss a potential deal, as they believe he possesses all the attributes they are looking for in an assistant.
